Quality Pet Care
The goal of Positive Energy Dog Training is to help bridge the gap in communication between dogs and owners to create strong, lasting relationships built on trust. We work with all breeds and ages, offering programs ranging from basic obedience to behavioral modification.
In our board and training programs, your dog will stay in our home as part of the family. We take in only a few dogs at a time to ensure each dog gets the attention they need with little downtime stuck in a kennel. We are a wife and husband team!
Meet the Trainer
My name is Tiffani Abshire, and I am the head trainer here at Positive Energy. I have six years of professional experience working for a large training facility specializing in board and train programs, over 15 years of experience working with my personal and family pets, and I finally branched out on my own in 2020. I have been an avid animal lover my whole life, always bringing home and caring for strays and injured wildlife. I started my journey into dog training when I was 19 with the purchase of my first dog, a Rottweiler. I attended many training classes with him while doing extensive research to gain more knowledge. I found that I had a natural talent for working with dogs which led me to my career as a dog trainer. Caring for animals is my passion, and bringing humans and their canine families closer together has become my life’s work.
Training Programs
Our board and train programs are our most popular options because it allows us to do the hard part of training for you while we send you teaching videos to learn at home. These programs are for dogs five months or older and can address any needs from basic obedience to behavioral modification of aggression.
Included in each program:
•A 30-day Post Board and Train Guide
•A drop-off session on the first day of the program to go over all concerns and/or questions that you may still have
•1 Private Session mid-way through the program
•A 2-4 hour go-home session on the last day of the program to learn how to maintain the progress your dog has made
•Unlimited follow-up lessons when needed
•A prong collar or slip lead, Ecollar from Ecollar Technology, and a 15-foot training leash.

Are you looking to have that well mannered best friend who can go anywhere and do everything with you? Do you already have a good dog, but they just need some fine tuning? Then this is the program for you!
This program is for dogs 5 months or older and who have no major behavioral issues. This program last three weeks.
Our adult off leash training course covers all of the basic commands both on and off leash as well as teaching the real world skills needed for public access. Your dog will go on hikes, into pet friendly stores, and enjoy downtown dining while in training to ensure that they are the best travel partner.

Are you having a hard time deciding between private lessons and a board and train program? Do you want to be more hands-on with training your dog but also don’t have the time to commit to hours of daily training? Our new hybrid training program may be just what you are looking for!
The hybrid training program combines the one-on-one learning benefits of private lessons with the convenience of a board and train. How does that work? Over the course of four weeks, your dog will stay with us for extensive training Monday through Friday. Each Friday, we will meet for a one-on-one lesson to cover everything your dog has learned that week and at the end of the lesson, you get to take your dog back home with you to practice. The following Monday, you will bring your dog back, and we’ll discuss what you may have struggled with, and we will continue training here for the rest of the week.
The weekly training program is broken down into these sections:
Week 1 - Introduction to prong collar and leash pressure. Teaching the five basic commands of sit, down, place, come, and heel, learning foundational structure at home.
Week 2 - Introduction to the Ecollar and overlaying the stimulus with commands. Advancing all commands with longer duration and added distractions.
Week 3 - Training in public and beginning off-leash training.
Week 4 - Polishing up training

These programs are for dogs of any age and range from 4-6 weeks.
These programs are designed for dogs with more serious behavioral issues such as fear/anxiety, hyperarousal towards, or reactivity towards animals or humans. I’m addition to helping address the root cause of your dog‘s behavioral problems, all basic commands will be covered in these training programs to help you better communicate with your dog.
Behavioral cases are more complex and require tailored training plans. I genuinely prefer to discuss these programs over the phone.

Is your dog already well behaved and you don’t feel like you need a full boarding program, but you would like for your dog to walk calmly on leash? If so, this is the program for you! Your dog will stay with us for four days to learn leash manners and to sit calmly every time you stop walking.
Come When Called $650

Our come when called program is a seven day expansion of our No More Pulling Program. Your dog will learn how to walk calmly on leash, and come when called! Price includes a prong collar, Ecollar, and a 15-foot training leash.

Our private lessons are great for the owner who wants to be more hands on with their pup’s training. Individually crafted to suit your specific needs, these are set up as pay per lesson so we focus only on what you want to work on.
First lesson is $140 and includes a prong collar.
All following lessons are $100 per lesson.
